An air filter is a physical barrier composed of multiple layers of fiber media. Its core function is to intercept suspended solids in the intake air. The filter media structure includes a pre-filter layer, a main filter layer, and a support grid. It captures particulates through a triple mechanism of mechanical retention, diffusion adsorption, and electrostatic effects. Clean airflow ensures stable operation of the combustion system, preventing abnormal wear and efficiency loss.
When the air filter pores are clogged by particles, the intake negative pressure increases, and power response is delayed when the throttle opening is increased. A persistently lower air flow sensor reading at idle indicates reduced air flow.
Large areas of opacity appear under strong light, and the grooves of the folded filter paper accumulate compacted matter. Oily stains form diffuse stains on the filter media surface that cannot be removed by conventional cleaning.
Spark plug electrode carbonization accelerates, and unburned carbon particles appear at the end of the exhaust pipe. Fuel consumption gradually increases, accompanied by unpleasant exhaust odor, and cold start difficulties increase in frequency.
Compared to oil-bath filters, dry-type air filters eliminate oil volatilization and contamination, and maintenance is contact-free. They are also significantly lighter, ensuring no impact on engine compartment balance.
Compared to electrostatic precipitators, they require no external power and have a significantly lower failure rate. They produce no ozone byproducts and cause no oxidative damage to rubber piping.
Compared to single-stage filter paper structures, the gradient filtration design delays core layer clogging and significantly increases dust holding capacity. The support mesh's anti-collapse design ensures uniform airflow throughout the filter's lifecycle.
1. Ensure the rubber seal is fully seated in the housing grooves, ensuring no loss of elasticity when pressed by finger. After installing the air filter, blow smoke along the joints to check for leaks. Tighten the bolts in a diagonal order.
2. Align the airflow arrows with the air intake direction, and ensure the pleats run parallel to the main airflow. Avoid reverse installation, which may damage the filter media. Ensure the frame locating pins are fully engaged.
